Witness inspiring feats of strength this month. The Reebok CrossFit Games at the Del Mar Arena (May 23) showcases the top athletes who qualified from the worldwide Open in February. They’ll perform surprise challenges in the regionals in order to move on to the Games in July. The MS Fitness Challenge at Campland on the Bay (May 18) will demonstrate the power of exercise and nutrition in overcoming multiple sclerosis. Founder David Lyons was diagnosed with MS in 2006 at the age of 47, and became a bodybuilding champion despite his doctors’ predictions that he would be in a wheelchair. The six-hour event is open to the public.
