San Diego photographer Justin Lee was on a Skype call when he noticed the sky outside his window turning pink. He ran to his rooftop and snapped 10 frames within three minutes. You get the money shot “about five to 10 minutes after the sun drops below the horizon,” he says. “Be patient and let the sky get more color. Clouds help add drama and act as a natural screen for color and light to bounce off.”
