It’s standing room only at the Mingei International Museum’s newly opened exhibition, Please Be Seated. Running through March 2014, the collection tells the story of the chair throughout various eras and cultures, in both handcrafted and manufactured styles. The exhibit, curated by Rob Sidner, showcases 100 different pieces, carefully selected based on aesthetic value and uniqueness, from private lenders and the museum’s permanent collection. Expect a unique visual experience that will make you think about how and what we sit in, from function and ergonomics to comfort and style.
